The Division has set a new Ubisoft record for digital sales within the first 24 hours.

Whether or not you think Ubisoft has had some "iffy" launches in the past is one thing. You can't deny, however, that their new IP's have sold amazingly well. The Division is no exception. According to a blog post by Ubisoft CEO Ives Guillemot, 

“The launch of The Division is a tremendous achievement for Ubisoft, and demonstrates our unrivaled capacity to create fantastic new game brands and transform them into entertainment blockbusters. This is a momentous day for Ubisoft, but more importantly it marks the start of millions of players’ enduring engagement in The Division’s game world, which we are confident they will love.”

Ubisoft also mentioned that they now have three of the top four best selling new game IP launches in history. Offhand, I remember Watch Dogs had the record prior to Ubisoft, but the third one escapes me at the moment. Either way, The Division has been an amazing success so far and congratulations to Ubisoft.
