Telltale Batman releasing this Summer

Telltale Games announced some new details about their upcoming Batman series at a panel discussion yesterday.

No footage was displayed, unfortunately, but we did learn that the game will release this Summer on the standard Telltale platforms. According to the game's writer, Pierre Shorette, "There are plenty of games out there that have explored what it is to feel like Batman, I think a Telltale series is going to give you an insight in what it's like to be Bruce day-to-day and see how that effects life as Batman,". Shorette also wrote Tales from the Borderlands and A Wolf Among Us as well.

Unlike the usual "cartoony" look of its characters in past games, this Batman series will feature upgraded technology to better display visuals. According to CEO Kevin Bruner, "Both technologically and creatively, I think there's a lot of really cool things that are going into Batman. We're premiering a lot of new Telltale stuff."  One of these cool things is the ability to play as both Batman and Bruce Wayne. Each of your decisions as one person impact the lives of the other in the game, so as usual you'll need to choose your decisions wisely. Certain situations will also let you play as either Batman or Bruce Wayne at your own choice.

The parts of playing as either character are confusing. Although this is set in its own separate universe of Batman, that's not how Batman usually operates. It'll be curious to see how this ties in to the standard, gritty feel of Batman.

Telltale Batman will release this Summer on all Xbox, PlayStation platforms as well as PC and mobile.

Thanks Eurogamer.
