Lego Dimensions as you know is one of our most anticipated games this year and something we've been waiting for a while now. In a recent interview with Eurogamer, the company sat down and explained how they plan to keep supporting the game with constant expansions and characters.
Mark Warburton, the game's Producer, stated that "We've created the technology to the degree that we're happy it meets our needs for the future. We've created the toy pad so that it shouldn't need to be updated. And we can just create new level and character packs to keep expanding that." There will never be any need to update the console or player base, simply place the new character or level on it three years later and Boom! you got a game.
They plan to support the game through at least 2018 with evolving expansions and characters as well. With wave 2 of characters coming in December and wave 3 immediately after in January of 2016, wave 4 will follow in March with wave 5 completing the initial round out in May. Just as in normal Lego games, you will not need to buy any additional DLC in order to 100% or platinum the game either
"You can 100 per cent the game and get the Platinum trophy just from the base set. People have been playing Lego games for 10 years now, and we shouldn't be offering anything less than that."
There is so much you can do, and especially buy, in Lego Dimensions that the launch products will cost you $740 alone. $740 FREAKING DOLLARS PEOPLE!!. What are you most looking forward to? Let us know.
