Ubisoft changes up The Division beta plans, renames it an alpha and restricts it to pre-orders

 

The Division beta on Xbox One was supposed to go live for Xbox One users this month to anyone who redeemed a code or signed up on the pre-order list on Ubisoft's site. This, as normal with Ubisoft games, has now been changed.

According to a post on the Ubisoft blog, the Xbox One beta will now be pushed to early 2016 with an unknown date. It is still unknown if this delay will allow for the Xbox One beta to be held before other platforms as previously announced. The beta will now be a closed alpha and restricted to players who pre-ordered the game on Xbox One. In order to take part you'll need to sign an NDA and be restricted from sharing any images and the like.

According to the announcement, it will be the first time the general public will be able to play areas not in the Dark Zone PvP areas of The Division as well.

Not sure about you guys, but what the hell is going on with The Division? As you've noticed before we've had some early info provided to us about The Division and rumors that this was coming we've previously stated. We've also been informed that this delay will most likely lead to a further delay of the full game's release in March as well. We've reached out to Ubisoft to confirm but have received no comment.
