Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma gets PS4 and PC release date, Xbox One still TBD

Redacted Studios, developer for Afro Samurai, has announced that its sequel Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma will release later this month on PlayStation 4. An Xbox One release is still coming but the date is still to be determined.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma will be delivered in three distinct volumes, each with its own new story arch, characters and combat styles to master, plus original soundtrack by up-and-coming indie hip-hop artists.  Event though it will release in three volumes, there will be a PC and PS4 exclusive bundle available on launch. The PC bundle will cost you $34.99 while PS4 users can get it a launch price of 20% off, 30% if you are a PS Plus member. Should you wait and purchased the volumes individually they will run  you $14.99 each.

Steve Escalante, the GM of Versus Evil Studios, stated that

The developer, Redacted Studios, has been dreaming of launching this game, the way you are going to play it and experience it over the course of several volumes.  It is a hip-hop opera that folds in a tragic family story with action-packed samurai action and a soundtrack from some amazing indie hip-hop artists.  We can’t wait for the fans to get to experience the next phase in Afro Samurai action.”

As the game features hip hop as its primary form of music, there is also a contest for the newest, up and coming artists. If you wish to have your track featured in the game, you can submit it to the studio if you think you have the bars for it. If you win, your song will be in the third volume of the game.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma releases September 22nd on PS4 and PC.
