Yes, I said Ginormous.

Tt Games and Warner Bros revealed a new trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 at Gamescom today. One thing becomes evident after watching the trailer: This game is going to be absolutely huge.

As a quick recap, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 will place us in Chronopolis against Kang the Conqueror. We’ll need to overcome the time traveling menace, and defeat him across multiple locations and periods. Multiple. LOL. That’s putting it lightly. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers currently holds the record for being the LEGO game with the most amount of hub worlds. This is going to get squashed into oblivion come November, as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 dwarfs it with an insane EIGHTEEN (Yes, 18) hub worlds.

Now, I had a hard enough time getting the 100% in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers with all of its worlds. I can’t even comprehend how long it’s going to take me in Marvel Super Heroes 2. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I love the LEGO games and have played pretty much every one. I’m simply amazed how big the game is going to be. Obviously a number of new worlds were revealed, which you can check out in the list below.

  1. Manhattan
  2. Egypt
  3. Rome
  4. K’un Lun
  5. Lemuria
  6. Hydra
  7. Medieval England
  8. Hala
  9. Noir New York
  10. Nueva York
  11. Old West
  12. The Swamp
  13. Attilan
  14. Xandar
  15. Kang’s Citadel
  16. Asgard
  17. Knowhere
  18. Wakanda

A few may sound obscure to you, mainly Xandar and Hala. We’ve yet to see these worlds as playable areas in game, and they reveal some characters that will be included as well.

Xandar is in the Andromeda system, and is known for being the home world of the Nova Corps. So, they will obviously be in the game. We have not seen them in gameplay yet, but it’s not that big of a reveal as Nova was a character in the first LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

Hala is the Kree homeworld. These were the creators of Inhumans, which have been confirmed to be in the game. In fact, both Medusa and Lockjaw were shown during E3. Kree characters have not been on display yet, but we can surely expect them with their home world being included. This should be an interesting setup, as it will be the first time we get to control the super powered, blue inhumans.

Speaking of Inhumans, their homeworld Attilan will be included as well. Attilan is located on the “blue” side of the moon where it is invisible to humans on Earth. K’un Lun will see us (mainly Iron Fist) travel to the mystical location where, dare I say, maybe Shao-Lou makes an appearance? I know it would be in LEGO form, but a dragon is still a dragon.

I have to admit, the one world I thought I would never see in a LEGO game is Knowhere. As the name implies, this doesn’t actually exist in any one place. Knowhere is inside the decapitated head of a Celestial. Yup, LEGO and Tt Games went there. The interesting part of Knowhere is that it is constantly drifting toward the end of the universe, and anyone who goes there is automatically closer to the end of time than those who were there before. It is a LEGO game, so I’m not expecting any gore. On the other hand, it is a bit surprising to see it chosen as a place for this game. There are, after all, so many place in the Marvel universe to choose from. The possiblities are literally endless as the main villain is a time traveler.

Swamp Thing was revealed as a playable character as well as ancient Rome and the Coliseum areas. Lemuria is another interesting world, seeing as it is inhabitated by hybrid human/mermaid people who invaded Atlantis.

Of course, all of this will be accompanied by the classic LEGO humor we all know and love, so I can’t wait to see how big this game truly is. Now, there are 170 character slot in the game, and that doesn’t count multiple outfits for each character. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 could surpass LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham for the most characters in the game, but we’ll have to wait and see for the final count.

We have three months until LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 releases on November 17th, 2017. In the meantime, check out the trailer below and let us know what you think
