Spiderman: Homecoming isn't even out in theaters yet (July 7th), but that hasn't stopped Marvel Exec Kevin Fiege talk about the upcoming sequel. As we know, there are two sequels planned as Tom Holland's contract calls for three solo films and three appearances in other films.
In a recent interview with Fandom, Fiege noted exactly when in the timeline that we can expect the sequel to begin:
"we are starting now the next one which will start a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story.”
Spider-man Homecoming's sequel, which is of course untitled at this point, will begin Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is anyone's guess as to the direction this will take, but we could have an idea thanks to the comics. In one version of the comics universe, Spider-man was able to retrieve the Infinity Gauntlet and restore the lives of the Avengers who were wiped out instantly by Thanos. If this is true for the films,it would of course mean a lot of deaths in Infinity War and the sequel.
What do you think of this timeline beginning only minutes after the last movie wraps up?
