GO GO Power Rangers!. It looks like the sequel we all wanted is going to get the main villain that we all wanted as well. Director Dean Israelite spoke to Comicbook recently, and revealed that they are aiming for Lord Zedd to be the main villain in the upcoming, hopefully to be announced sequel.

Israelite commented by saying:

"Well Lord Zedd is the obvious choice, I think, in a good way. Ya know, there was a time when we were talking about Lord Zedd being in this movie. And it just felt like we didn't have the real estate for it and I didn't want to dilute our villains. So we kind of went all in on Rita. And so I think definitely it would all expanding into the next volume I definitely think have to feature Lord Zedd. I mean that's not set in stone but I think that's the obvious, sort of, next step to it."

The end of the first film obviously saw the end of Rita Repulsa, so Lord Zedd would be the obvious next step as he mentions. The main difference with the TV show is that Zedd arrived while Rita was still in power, and in the movie she is floating off in outer space toward the moon. This doesn't necessarily mean that Rita is gone, as you'll remember she was "brought back to life" after being brought out of the water by Jason's dad on the fishing boat.

Hopefully, this happens as the sequel is something we can't wait for. Remember to read the things we want in the sequel that were absent from the first film. What do you think of Lord Zedd? Let us know.
