Wii U announces the Badland Game of the Year Edition

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition is based on Frogmind’s multi-award-winning game, BADLAND, a console-quality game for tablets with over 25 million players worldwide. BADLAND is a side-scrolling action adventure with innovative physics-based gameplay and stunning atmospheric graphics and audio. Players control a flying creature, Clony, and try to survive through an astonishing number of imaginative and deadly traps, puzzles and obstacles within a dense, beautiful forest. One of the key gameplay mechanics is cloning, where you end up controlling dozens of Clones at the same time.

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition builds on the excellence of the original game with completely revamped controls, perfected for Wii U. The redesigned gameplay expands that of the original by offering full directional control over the game’s characters. The Wii U version comes with up-to-four-player, local old-school style multiplayer gaming with full support for the Pro controller, Wii U GamePad, Motion and MotionPlus controllers. The game includes Off-TV Play for the GamePad and features local achievements and online leaderboards to compare stats with your friends.

“It’s a dream come true to finally have BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition come to Wii U,” said Johannes Vuorinen, co-creator of BADLAND. “ The new controls, Full-HD 60fps visuals on the big screen and old-school local multiplayer, bring BADLAND to life in a great way on the Wii U. So be sure to check the game out and join the noble cause of saving the Clones. They need your help!”

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition features over 15 hours and 100 levels of single-player story content, 100 co-op levels, and 27 multiplayer battle stages for up-to-four-person local multiplayer awesomeness. All levels have been rebuilt to suit the new control mechanics.

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition is now available in the Nintendo eShop for Wii U for a special launch discount price of $9.99.
